Therapy for Children, Adolescents, and Adults Navigating Trauma, Anxiety, and Relationships
For people who want to feel more grounded, more understood, and more at home in themselves.
Support for Children, Adolescents, and Adults
Therapy is not about having the right words or knowing exactly what is wrong. It is about having a space where you can begin to understand what you are carrying and start to feel less alone in it.
Children
Play and Creative Trauma Informed Therapy for Children
Children don’t always have the words for what they’re feeling, but they almost always have a way to show it. Through drawing, painting, sand trays, puppets, and storytelling, kids can explore big feelings, work through hard experiences, and practice new ways of coping, at a pace that feels safe to them.
Adolescents
Adolescence is one of the most disorienting times in a person's life. For teens, therapy offers a steady place to make sense of big emotions, build confidence, and feel supported while navigating identity, relationships, family, and the pressure of growing up.
Adults
For adults, therapy is a place to understand the patterns that keep showing up, tolerate emotions more fully, and build healthier ways of relating to yourself and the people around you.
Play-Based and Art Therapy for Children in Portland
Audrey Valence, LPC
Fridays beginning October 16, including after-school times
Audrey Valence, LPC, is an art therapist and child therapist who works with kids of all ages and adults through the lifespan. From young children through the teen years, her child sessions are built around play and creative expression. Your child might draw what worry looks like, build a world in the sand tray, or act out a story with figures and puppets. What looks like play is purposeful: it gives Audrey a window into your child’s inner world and gives your child a way to make sense of it.
Play-Based EMDR Therapy
Audrey is trained in EMDR therapy and offers a play-based approach to EMDR therapy, adapting the work to a child’s developmental stage so that healing from difficult or overwhelming experiences can happen through art, movement, and play rather than talk alone.
Adoption, Foster, and Kinship Care
She has also completed Training for Adoption Competency (TAC), and brings specialized understanding to the needs of adopted children, children in foster or kinship care, and the families who love them.
Working With Parents and Caregivers
Audrey partners closely with parents and caregivers, so the progress your child makes in session can carry over into home and daily life. Sessions are available on Fridays and are private pay. To learn more or see if Audrey is the right fit for your child, book a 15-minute consultation with our team below.
