EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR therapy is a structured psychotherapy approach that helps people process distressing experiences that may still feel active in the body, emotions, thoughts, or relationships.
EMDR therapy can be used for trauma, anxiety, panic, phobias, grief, and other experiences that feel unresolved. The work is collaborative and paced with care.

These are two distinct levels of EMDR practice. Completing a basic training means you have met the foundational requirements — including the required consultation hours — and are trained in EMDR therapy. Certification in EMDR therapy is a more advanced designation through EMDRIA that requires additional consultation hours, continuing education, clinical case experience, and recommendation from an approved consultant. Certification signals a higher level of mastery and often results in more referrals for clients specifically seeking EMDR. Both levels are meaningful. This training prepares you to be fully trained. Consultation groups offered here support the path toward certification.
